I am finally kicking my cooking habit back into gear. Wednesdays, Fridays, and the weekends are my favorite days, not just to see Lewis but to also eat and hopefully more from now on, cook! I forgot how much fun it was and how satisfying it was to sit down and enjoy a meal you’ve made yourselves after an hour or two. Post-grad life sort of took the fun out of eating because I’ve gotten so busy. No more excuses, I have to find time to do this again.
I still owe my readers pictures of my latest baking adventures. I’ll find time after I shave off my list of projects. So far in the last week I have been on a healthier food streak and keeping track of what I’m eating. There’s a trend so far: healthy from Monday-Thursday, eat like a king on Friday and Saturdays, maybe Sunday if I’m tempted.
I have a newfound love for salads mostly dressed with avocados and have been addicted to steel-cut oatmeal. This week I also added recipes that did not require baking or frying of any sort, something to expand my cooking routines. Although tomorrow I plan to make garlic bread knots and whole wheat lasagna, I will apply a healthy take on it. Pictures, pictures, pictures, I promise! A camera with an awesome macro lens would be great, too.
