Sweet Tooth
No matter how much I try to hide it, my forehead is going to read “sweet tooth”.  Even after the holidays, I still want to get my hands dirty for a baking recipe.  I should probably balance out my food blogs, most of them are baking blogs.  When I start searching for savory recipes, I always end up with the starchiest, comfort food.  That subconscious New Year’s resolution to eat...

"All these foods are going to kill...
I know I can’t buy into every health warning, but my family does.  Every so often I always get these chain letters from my relatives.  It usually starts from my grandpa which later trickles down to my aunts and parents.  Might I add that my grandpa is 80 years old and can email?  I’m always impressed!  The newest health concern this week are cancerous foods.  Let’s face it, too...

Cooking Mama
You guys have seen this game for the DS, from the Apple Application store, and finally, now on Facebook.  Cooking Mama has the same features as the original game: leveling up for each recipe, cutting, pouring, stirring, baking anything that the store offers.  With the social networking aspect, you’ll find your friends competing with you to complete the goals.  Satisfy the customers by adding...

Kindergarten Snacks →
We’ve all had ants on a log or apples and peanut butter at one point in our lives right?  Corrine from Keep Your Diet Real created a fantastic peanut butter dip for sliced apples.  I normally like to dip them in yogurt or peanut butter, but I’ve never tried them mixed before!  More protein for the win!

There's no such thing...
Dad: There's a Hue Pho here?
Me: Pho hue? Mom, what's that?
Mom: WRONG! Hue people don't eat pho, they eat bun bo hue and Bac people eat pho! Those people are CRAZY...pho hue (scoffs). You already know not to go in there by the name of the restaurant.
As you can see, my parents are not Hue and my mom takes her Vietnamese food very seriously. She thinks that restaurant is a trap for tourists.

A foodie's annual resolution
Every year or so, I make a resolution that’s food related.  Every time Lent rolls around, I make the same resolution to confirm my determination to see my New Year’s resolution follow through.  I haven’t stopped reading blogs today.  I’ve been glued to this computer for hours now and there’ll be an occasional blurb about how someone wants to lose weight, eat...

Crawfish: How do you eat this thing? →
I recently discovered chow.com on an app on my phone.  I couldn’t help but watch a few cooking videos.  Here’s one that made me laugh because my parents were wondering how the heck crawfish could be so wonderful to eat if it takes so much work to crack it open.  With a little practice I’m sure they’ll find a way to make it enjoyable.  I do want to visit the Boiling Crab one...
